Teladoc Health Partners with Vivo to Improve Access to Quality Healthcare in Brazil

Largest telecommunications company in Brazil improves local population’s access to care with Teladoc Health’s virtual care platform and licensed clinicians

PURCHASE, NY May 12, 2021Teladoc Health, Inc. (NYSE: TDOC), the global leader in whole-person virtual care, today announced a new partnership with Vivo (NYSE: VIV, B3:VIVT3), part of the Telefónica Group, that will provide Brazilians with increased access to healthcare, specifically through the use of telemedicine.

The service, named Vida V Powered by Teladoc, is scheduled to launch next month and will be made available to any consumer in Brazil, including those who are not yet Vivo customers. Vida V is a digital health and wellness marketplace that will offer, among other solutions, telemedicine services to end customers and SMB companies in Brazil.

Vida V will be made available through a mobile app and will include medical consultations, wellness and health programs, pharmacy discounts and other benefits. Other features, new services and partnerships will be added to the platform over the next few months.

“Telemedicine has the potential to expand access to doctors and to the entire health system in Brazil,” said Christian Gebara, Vivo’s president.

This partnership deepens Teladoc Health’s relationship with Telefónica, announced in October of 2020 to improve access to care for consumers in Spain through a similar partnership with Movistar, the leading telecommunications provider in Spain also owned by Telefónica.

“Our partnership with Vivo further demonstrates our ability to enable healthcare access on a global level and have a positive impact in markets that traditionally encounter challenges in accessing healthcare,” said Carlos Nueno, president of international markets at Teladoc Health. “Innovative partners like Telefónica allow us to build and find new pathways to empower people across the world to live their healthiest lives.”
