Teladoc Health Recognizes Top Hospitals and Health Systems for Virtual Care Excellence During the Telehealth Innovation Forum

Purchase, NY, August 20, 2020 – Teladoc Health (NYSE: TDOC), the global leader in virtual care, recognized top hospitals and health systems with the Telehealth Innovation Awards for achievements in advancing virtual care worldwide at the 14th Telehealth Innovation Forum. This highly-regarded annual event, held virtually this year, gathered more than 3,500 healthcare leaders to discuss growth strategies and the future of virtual care.

The Telehealth Innovation Awards were established to recognize healthcare providers who have successfully implemented an innovative approach to their virtual care strategies to advance patient care. While each award category typically highlights telehealth’s ability to transform delivery models for organizations of all sizes, the insights collected from this year
also highlight the vital role virtual care has in extending access to healthcare during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Award recipients and organizations were recognized for contributions toward telehealth excellence and growth, including program expansion, patient impact, and innovation in new or emerging telehealth programs and models. The Telehealth Innovation Awards recognized the following twelve hospitals and health systems in four categories:

  • The Founder’s Award recognizes telehealth excellence and virtual care innovation.

    • Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin: The Founder’s Award for Telehealth Excellence for innovating a telecritical care model that fits the EU system of care and the thought leadership provided to the German public health system in the area of Berlin and Brandenburg for a COVID-19 response plan

    • Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein: Top Telehealth Global Provider Award for leadership and innovation with the platform’s highest session volume with 455% growth from Q1 to Q2 2020

    • HCA Healthcare: Top National Telehealth Network Award for leading virtual care transformation

  • Top Telehealth Innovators & Leaders recognizes achievements in new or emerging telehealth models.

      leadership in virtualizing care delivery across the continuum

    • Geisinger Health: #1 National Telehealth Provider for redefining boundaries to expand access to care

    • Cape Regional Health System: #1 Accelerated Physician Engagement for rapid expansion of physician visit volume by 200% and enrollment of patients in telemedicine for its multispecialty group practice during the COVID crisis

    • Ready: #1 In-Home Care Provider for accelerating healthcare from traditional settings to the home

     

  • Top Program Leaders recognizes telehealth leadership across various program specialties.

    • Children’s Mercy: Top Program Leader in Acute Pediatric Care for outstanding program expansion

    • Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center: Top Program Leader in Consumer Pediatrics for pioneering consumer telehealth pediatric care

    • HCA Healthcare: Top Program Leader in Mental Health for an outstanding commitment to expanding telepsychiatry services     

    • Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin: Top Program Leader in Critical Care for outstanding enhancements in recovery for intensive care

    • Providence: Top Program Leader in Hospitalist Care for outstanding adoption of virtual care
