The American Hospital Association Exclusively Endorses the Teladoc Telehealth Technology Platform and Licensable Software Solution

Hospital and Health Systems Can Provide Virtual Care via Choice of Online Video, Phone or Mobile App

Chicago, Dec. 7, 2016 – The American Hospital Association (AHA) today announced it has exclusively endorsed the Telehealth Technology Platform and Licensable Software Solution from Teladoc, Inc. Following a proprietary due diligence process, Health Forum, the strategic business enterprise of the American Hospital Association (AHA), awards the AHA Endorsement to products and services that help member hospitals and health care organizations achieve operational excellence.

Hospitals are implementing innovative strategies to provide services beyond their four walls and increase access to care for their patients and others in the community who have health care needs. The Teladoc Telehealth Technology Platform and Licensable Software Solution increases access to quality and affordable care by enabling individuals to seek medical care from any location via phone; secure, online, multi-party-video; or mobile app.

Through its platform-as-a-service and licensable software solution, the Teladoc solution enables hospitals and health systems to create, manage and clinically direct their own telehealth programs to increase patients' access to care, improve efficiency and care coordination, and reduce costs.

Current and new patients can use the solution to schedule appointments or select physicians available for on-demand or scheduled consultations. Moreover, physicians can use the secure, cloud-based solution, which can integrate with electronic health record systems, to schedule appointments, review each patient's medical history, provide a consultation, instant message other care team members and prescribe medication.

As part of the solution, Teladoc also provides marketing support to help hospitals increase patients' awareness and utilization, and provides reporting capabilities for tracking the solution's performance.

"We recognize the operational challenges health care organizations face in extending care into their communities," said Kathleen Wessel, vice president, business management for Health Forum. "With a delivery model that has been validated by multiple independent experts for its strong return on investment, and industry-leading technology dedicated to supporting hospitals and health systems, Teladoc can help health care organizations achieve their goals."

"At Teladoc, we consistently hear from hospitals and health systems that our telehealth technology platform and licensable software solution play a vital role in their evolution to a more consumer-driven health care landscape," said Dr. Alan Roga, president, Teladoc Provider Market. "This exclusive endorsement by the AHA is testament to the work we've done on behalf of these clients and the important financial and clinical goals we've helped them meet. We are proud and honored that Teladoc has met the AHA's highest standards for excellence."
